Our History and Vision

VeloSolutions was originally founded in 2000 by to participate in the emerging VOIP Sector. Over the past decade it has evolved its original mission and expanded the scope of its services into wholesale voice hubbing, SMS hubbing and now is moving to become a leader in Value Added Services for Mobility Applications.

In the past decade, VeloSolutions has successfully managed to grow every year and develop a high profile customer base of over 100 carriers which includes some of the world’s largest PTTs, MVNOs, and calling card operators. Today it is rapidly moving into the SMS hubbing sector and VAS services helping define new innovations for this sector.

The success of VeloSolutions is based on its driving philosophy of providing strong technical support, customer service, flexibility, and integrity in its dealings with customers and suppliers. This has earned VeloSolutions a strong reputation as a provider of quality telecom routes and services in the telecommunications industry worldwide. Today, VeloSolutions is a sought after strategic partner for carriers, MVNOs, and calling card operators.

Our vision today is to be an innovative leader in communications services to carriers and consumers throughout the world through the provision of superior value based services making us an indispensible part of their strategic operational plans and lives.

Operations

The operations of VeloSolutions are divided into:

• Wholesale Carrier Voice Hubbing Services
• Mobility Applications, SMS and Related Services

All operations are coordinated via the head-office in Toronto, Canada. VeloSolutions also maintains 6 key offices in: Guatemala City, Guatemala, Braslov, Romania, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Hyderabad, India and Amman, Jordan. Co-locations are maintained in the United States and Canada to ensure the delivery of highly secure and robust services. Technical support is delivered primarily via Toronto, and Bangladesh. VeloSolutions is a registered CRTC authorized carrier with all the requisite licenses for long distance and other services.

Management

Zakir Hussain – Founder, CEO & Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Hussain has over 20 years of international business experience and have lived and travelled extensively throughout the world and is fluent in multiple languages. Prior to establishing VeloSolutions, was Director of Marketing for CDI Corporate Education Services, one of Canada’s leading IT training services firms. He has worked as an Industry telecommunications analyst while at Venture Development Corporation and been involved in the telecommunications sector since 1994. Mr. Hussain is experienced in new product introductions and has successfully started companies in the travel & tourism, and in the pharmaceutical sector. Mr. Hussain has been a Lecturer of Marketing and International Trade and Law at Seneca College. He has an MBA with distinction in marketing from the Bentley Graduate School of Business, in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA, and a BA from Hamilton College, NY. He is also a graduate of the St. Georges English of Rome, Italy.

Humayun Asghar, Director of Network Operations

Mr. Asghar is responsible for the day to day management of our network operations and the technical team at VeloSolutions for the past 8 years. Mr. Asghar has more than 30 years of experience in project management and executive level positions in the electrical, construction, and IT industries. He has worked for large multinational corporations in the Middle East and South Asia. He is a graduate of York University and holds a BSc in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan.

Suhail Syed, Vice President Business Development & Vas Services

Mr. Syed has over 10 years of experience in the telecom sector assuming positions of increasing responsibility. His background includes positions as Senior Manager at Vodafone India, Business Manager at Sify, and Business Operations Manager at Telco214. His experience includes extensive travel throughout Africa and the world making strategic agreements and partnerships with international carriers. Syed has a Bachelor of Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering in India.

Legal:

Adam Szweras – A partner with Fogler, Rubinoff LLP, and a founder of the Foundation investment banking group, Mr. Szweras’ practice and investment banking activities focuses on corporate finance and going public transactions. He acts for companies looking to raise money or make acquisitions, and assists private companies going public-either by initial public offering, reverse take-over transaction or Capital Pool Company (CPC). He assists companies seeking listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), the Toronto Venture Exchange (TSXV), the CNQ, US Exchanges (including the NASDAQ, the AMEX, the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board or OTC BB), and other exchanges internationally (including the Alternate Investment Market or AIM in London). Mr. Szweras has particular expertise in structuring cross-border and multi-jurisdictional securities transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He represents investment dealers and public issuers in undertaking RTOs and IPOs, develops tax effective structures for securities offerings, and develops alternative asset class products. He also assists in the establishment of mutual funds and pooled funds for public issuers and investments dealers. Mr. Szweras joined Fogler, Rubinoff LLP as a Partner in 2006 after practising securities and corporate law with another major Canadian firm. Prior to that he was the managing partner of a prominent Bay Street securities law boutique where he represented public issuers and investment dealers.
